Introduction
The Edinburgh Institute for Counselling & Psychotherapy offers counselling and psychotherapy one-to-one, with couples and in therapy groups.
Why Turn to Counselling or Psychotherapy?
Are you struggling to cope at work?
Are you stuck in a relationship that seems to be going nowhere?
Are you grieving a loss and unable to move on?
Are you suffering from trauma, such as abuse or the loss of a loved one?
Do you want to stop destructive behaviours such as smoking or excessive drinking?
Do you often feel anxious or depressed?
Do you often experience the same bad feelings and wonder why?
Do you suffer from low self-esteem?
Do you want to grow and develop?
Do you want to live a more fulfilling life?
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, counselling or psychotherapy may provide a safe and effective answer to the problem.
Counselling & Psychotherapy Issues
Some of the issues we work with include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Self confidence & image
- Workplace problems
- Family difficulties
- Life changes
- Relationship Problems
- Bereavement
- Post-Traumatic Stress
- Abuse
At EICP we offer counselling and psychotherapy to meet these many individual needs; some of our clients are looking to resolve problems in their lives today by finding different ways of looking at the situation or people involved. Others are seeking to re-evaluate where they are in their lives and perhaps change focus or direction. Our therapists are trained to work as counsellors with short term clients and to provide psychotherapy for those wanting to take an in depth look at themselves over a longer time frame.
EICP also offers Low Cost Counselling to anyone who is not in work and cannot afford standard counselling charges. This service is provided by trainees in the Counselling & Psychotherapy Training Institute who have been endorsed to practice.
We are always willing to discuss our work and help you to decide if our counselling and psychotherapy approach is right for you.
About EICP
The Edinburgh Institute for Counselling & Psychotherapy was founded by Richard Reynolds in 1993 with the objectives of providing counselling and psychotherapy within an effective and ethical framework and to provide accredited training in Transactional Analysis counselling and psychotherapy.
All EICP therapists work within the Transactional Analysis modality and are bound by the codes of ethics and professional practice of the Institute of Transactional Analysis. The therapists support their work by being in supervision and with a commitment to continue their personal and professional development.
As part of the organic growth of the organisation, training has been separated from the provision of counselling and psychotherapy and is provided by our sister organisation, Counselling & Psychotherapy Training Institute (CPTI).
